c/n 1259, built 06/67 as U-10D s/n 66-14357 for USAF accepted 06/67, t/n “14357” USAF West Virginia Air National Guard, 130th Special Operations Squadron until 11/74, storage MASDC Davis-Monthan AFB AZ declared excess 01/77 released from storage 09/78 as N5405G 10/78 WV CAP 1 of 15 released to Factory for conversion by Factory reps to trigear for WV CAP 10/78 CAP sold '81, rereg N808BD Buzz Dopkin (named Helioshark) CO sold '03, Performance Aircraft corp (Igaal Barak) CA sold '08, Ben Cart GA sold '10, Alan Sikes (Sikes Onion Farm) Collins, GA, sold 08/18 Rick Schmidt OR sold 11/20 Aviation trust co (?)

Anyone know where and what Helioshark came from or refers to?
My guess is that that while on display with Buzz he wanted a catchy name to attract attention.

The asymmetrical U-10D instrument panel was retained in my opinion the best panel of all models including the 1400 series

I am looking for two flap box straps.  They are the ones that go around the main spar and are held in place by the diagonal braces to the manual flap control box.
Tried to post on the other page but no luck.

Thanks

I see this a/c sold clear back 11/20. Anyone Know who bought it and where its at?

I see it is in Guatemala.

I'll have to start doing google searches till I find it.

This is one of those aircraft that is registered in an Oklahoma trust.

Always makes me wonder if they are a bad actor or up to something shady.

I didn't think I'd be posting here again this soon but I found a picture taken at Aeropuerto La Aurora Guatemala 9/13/'21
and a you tube link to N808BD.

I'll open the photo above, I wonder if we'll figure out who owns it now.

You tube link  https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_vH1YDaBCVQ

I would really like to see a video of the accident happening.

I wonder if this is Jim Hupe & Stephen Trott who own c/n 056 N444PB?

At least it appears the engine & prop are ok.  Do the tri-gears have a main gear attachment similar to the Cessnas?
