Greetings All.
My name is Vlad, I am from PA US, and I am recently join this forum.

I don't own Helio, nor I ever fly this fascinating machine, as a matter effect I have never see this machine up close.

I own and fly Piaggio P149E and my baby has a heart Go-480B1A6 and currently I am in process of rebuilding it.

So this is my  primary reason to join you community.

Do you, or can anyone else, talk about the differences between Vlad's B1A6 and our GO480G1D6 engines?  Is it the accessory case position?

Vlad, there may be alot of similar parts that can be swapped between these engines and I think you'll find a significant knowledge base on this forum about all of the rebuild and accessories issues surrounding these engines.

Please let us know what issues you face.

They were built under license by BMW in Germany for P-149E/DF airplanes, only has 270 HP and different from the GO-480-G1D6 and G1A6

I did a search for Lycoming engine suffixes and came up with this. Thought you might find it interesting as I did, if it doesn't confuse you. I just didn't have the patience to put in all the commas needed.

I see there is a low compression version of the GO-480 that would burn autogas without a bit of problem but you would give up 25 hp.

C-D-M

Where:
          C        Letters indicating the engine's configuration:

                I        Fuel injected
                O        Opposed type (pancake-style)
                X        X-type engine
                R        Radial type engine
                G        Engine is geared
                T        Engine is turbocharged
                S        Engine is supercharged
                L        Engine is left-turning
                A        Engine is designed for aerobatics (DRY SUMP)
                AE       Engine is designed for aerobatics (WET SUMP)
                M        Engine is designed for unmanned drone (UNCERTIFIED)
                H        Engine is designed for helicopter installation
                V        Engine is designed to have the crankshaft in the
                         vertical, not horizontal, plane.  Usually implies
                         "H"
          D        The engine's displacement in cubic inches.

          M        Configuration.  Includes power rating, nose section,
                   accessory section, counterweight application, and
                   magneto application.


Example from the Lycoming Overhaul manual:

Where:
                TIO - The prefix as described above.

                541 - The engine's cubic inch displacement, as described
