edited the history and added Cessna seat installation and saw the 337 for the replacement of the diagonal at rear of baggage area with a horizontal cross member (same as 1400). If you have a 1200 series 295, 395, or 391 with a baggage door seems like a useful mod, probably only practical if doing a major refurbishment or repair. Most if not all of cabin skins on 1210 were removed along with tail cone so frame could be sandblasted and inspected because of corrosion.

When Steve Murray restored this plane he did it right.  Ground up restoration, probably the most detailed, neat logbooks I have ever seen (Sorry most mechanics just don't take the time to be that neat) detailing his work.  That's why I bought it.  Extremely clean inside.  He did a great job. He would have had to take it apart because the frame has been completely restored , painted and looks new.  I actually just pulled up the floorboards and headliner during the annual and looked at it closely because another member and I were talking about the roll cages.

Steve did a lot of great mods.....I like the 1400 config, but prefer the original manual flaps I have, plus the baggage door....I thought when I was looking that I probably would have to buy a worn out plane and go through the time consuming rebuild process...but then I found N295LA and it was just like I wanted.

I have way too many vehicles and boat motors I'm still working on to get into airplane rebuilding too!

Christian,
You won't have to tell me a third time. Even the spell checker was telling me it was wrong.

I prefer the manual flap also, but I would have preferred a Johnson bar like the old Cessnas instead of a window crank. I think the Johnson bar lets you feel the the flap extension better than the crank on the Helio.

John Alleva intends to use a manual hydraulic flap on his experimental Helio c/n 103 similar to the Beaver I think that might be an even better way to go.

You are also correct that Steve Murray could give lessons in how to do 337s for logs.

Update: sn:1210 sold to Joshua Siegel based in Oxford, CT

I helped advertise this aircraft years ago before it sold to Chris Armand. Its great to see it out flying again. I would occasionally receive reports that it was flying out of Reno, etc. I'd love to talk to the new owner.
