Prospective purchase of H-700
« on: December 28, 2020, 09:06:40 AM »
I am considering a purchase of a H-700 and have read as many posts here as I can find. Some info that has surfaced is problems with excessive fuel burn to keep the TIO-540 cool in cruise. Can anyone advise what fuel burn to expect at 75% power ?
Also wondering if there are composite gear legs for sale in case of gear failure ?
Thanks for the help, this is a great site.

Bush Pilot,

Welcome to the group. I hope your 700 search is successful.

Since there were less than 20 of the H700/800 built, I doubt anyone has a set of new composite gear available. AD87-04-09 that required the replacement of the gear if any problems were encountered, has probably been accomplished on all of them at this point. Just my guess. I don't have much experience with 700s in that regard.

Hope this helps.

Hi Kevin,
I am not familiar with the AD about replacement of the gear, I will look into that. Thank you.
