c/n 1231, built 03/67 as model H-295, original registry N6339V Arizona Helicopters Inc (Robert Wach) AZ install Rajay turbochargers accident enroute to Kathmandu while on takeoff run the aircraft collided with ditches @ Rampur Nepal 11/68 sold '76, John Brons ID sold '78, Ray Loesche (Rainbow King Lodge) installed tundra tires AK sold '80, Stan Steven NT dereg export assigned (C-FZYI ntu) export canceled sold '81, reg N456JH James Harrower AK (Rainbow King Lodge inc) accident during the take-off roll on the runway at approximately 20 to 25 mph the pilot lost directional control of the aircraft and it ground looped to the right @ Anchorage AK 9/88, next accident pilot stated that while flying at about 500 feet above mountainous terrain and approaching a saddle, the aircraft encountered a downdraft. Despite the addition of full power, the aircraft continued to descend until it contacted the ground and nosed over @ Port Alsworth AK 7/91, wreck sold '? Neil Bilodeau exported Chambly, Quebec, Canada never registered (C-reg ntu) Neil Bilodeau parted out only data plate left

It looks like 1231 had a cool looking paint scheme.

my understanding is that the the wing with red tip came from c/n 1251 which had the fuel tank explosion.

I found a log of aircraft landing at Luqa, Malta 05/67 to refuel, it shows Helio N6339V coming from Valencia then going on to Beirut probably on its way to have an accident at Rampur, Nepal while enroute to Kathmandu

accident enroute to Kathmandu while on takeoff run the aircraft collided with ditches @ Rampur Nepal 11/68.

Anyone have any idea if this was a pleasure trip or a delivery that didn't go as planned.

The Malta site says there is really no reason for visiting Luqa Malta unless enroute to a delivery.
