c/n 1286, built 11/67 as model H-295 original registry (assigned N6344V ntu reused on c/n 1208) special registry used N269E (probably for Ezra 2:69) reg previously used on c/n 2513 then c/n 1208 & is current reg on c/n 1292) special registry aquired by A.G.B. Corp (Gus Bullock dealer) VT '68, for Rev Robert Bryan (Quebec Labrador Mission (Catholic order) 3rd Helio of 6) MA install Seamaster 3500 amphib floats installed 1400 series trapezoidal rear windows and dorsal fin sold '73, rereg N269L Bruce Adams NM accident aircraft was crossing a mountain ridge at 250 feet when a downdraft was encountered on the downwind side of the ridge. The pilot then banked and returned to the upwind slope but was unable to maintain altitude. The aircraft collided with trees and the stabilator was damaged on the aircraft when forced to land in a small clearing @ Dulce NM 4/84, sold to Jaars (45th Helio of 46) accident on the landing roll out while pilot was receiving training for currency the aircraft slid to the right of the runway and the right wing struck a fence @ Edgemoor SC 4/88, next accident the left brake was mistakenly applied on touchdown and the pilot was unable to correct the aircraft, as the tail steering dampener had failed @ Morrison Fld NC 5/91, next accident while taxiing for take-off a bolt sheared causing the left gear to collapse there was minor damage to the left wing tip and propeller @ Kidron-Stoltzfus Fld OH 8/01, rereg N61JA Jaars Waxhaw, NC most Jaars mods installed including 3,800lb up-gross H-7/800 cargo door and individual energy absorbing seats on Brownline tracks, sold 8/19 George Lanigan Keyser WV

this seems like a good place to post this AOPA post on short runways since 1286 is used for training

Found a couple photos 1 as N269E and a couple as N61JA will open them in the photo queue at the top of the page

Also did an edit to the History paragraph and added the present owner.

Actually we need a picture of the Helio as it is now.

Has it been repainted or has only the Jaars been removed from the tail,
