Title: 96" tri blade hartzell availability question??
Post by: 391stol on August 28, 2010, 01:59:36 PM
WHat is the going market on this prop/hub combination used, what other aircraft used this prop hub and or blades, what is the availability of these used?? Would it be easier to find a used hub and buy new blades??? Because it is hartzell i am sure you have to pay much more than it is worth.

The going market is about $20m used but in excellent shape and signed off by a prop shop.  New is about $32m.  New blades are not hard to find or can be purchased new for about $10m (for 3).  Used hubs are quite rare.  This same prop is used on the Aero Commander, Grumman Wigeon, Seabee conversion, and an old Polish fighter (which are no longer found anywhere).  Good Luck finding your prop.  Ken

Twin Bonanza, Aero Commander, and Queen Air 65 are the most common and you can legally use the G1A6 for the 295, the STC is already there, the G1A6 has the high output alternator

Blades can be made by Hartzell and they have the paperwork to do it, but it will cost you!!
