4 picture check your albums. Please do an internet search maybe you'll come up with one I couldn't find, I need all the help I can get.

c/n 1251, built 04/67 as U-10D s/n 66-14349 for USAF accepted 04/67, t/n “14349“ USAF CA Air National Gaurd 129th ACS Hayward CA until 11/74, storage MASDC Davis-Monthan AFB AZ released from storage 06/79, as N5072K to OK CAP 1 of 15 converted to tri gear sold '82, Gregg & Ruby Thompson OK sold '83, Fred Rulison NY sold '91, Phillip & Mary Middleton WA sold '02, Peter & Cheryl Meisner OR incident on climb out, the pilot experienced a loss of power followed by a loss of oil pressure and requested routing to the nearest airport. Diverted to Oxnard and within 6 miles of the airport, the engine failed. Pilot glided successfully to the runway and landed without further trouble @ Oxnard CA 08/02, paint scheme was copyrighted Peter Meisner OR sold '12, Jim Meier Portland, OR (2nd of 3) refurbished '13 rebuilt engine prop installed 1400 series interior including individual seats Oregon Aero upholsty and new panel installed baggage door installed Landis nose fork with 8.50x6 Goodyear Wheel & new shimmy damper 1400 series dorsal fin           8/15 for sale $185K

N5072 is like a new plane with new Oregon Aero interior, seats, flooring, carbon fiber side panels, large nose wheel, new panel, baggage door,  slat rollers and tomahawks, etc. Now in process of updating N68885. Lots of support and parts from Gordon Cragg, Steve Murray, Jim Danish, and others.

She asked the same question I am. Hard landing? Nose wheel landing?

My next question is how can it be an incident while landing as stated in the report, and not an accident?

I see #1251 N5072K was sold and registered to Univest Aviation llc, Scottsdale AZ Anyone know if this is Jack N Ross of Univest Properties, llc ?

More about accident. The paper reports it as a 'Hard Landing'.

Interesting reply to my question about incident or accident.

"If no structural damage affecting flying characteristics has happened, no serious injuries or fatalities, no in-flight fire etc...it is considered incident. So hard landing can be reported as incident or actually wouldn’t necessarily need to be reported to NTSB, if no one is hurt.

However looking at the pictures, the prop is bent, the engine is damaged and who knows how much damage is done to the nose wheel area etc. So definitely expensive incident. I wonder if the pilot had much Helio time.

FAA Order 8020.11C

d. Aircraft Accident - an occurrence associated with the operation of an aircraft which takes
place between the time any person boards the aircraft with the intention of flight and until such time as
all such persons have disembarked, and in which any person suffers death or serious injury, or in
which the aircraft receives substantial damage. All aspects of the exceptions to substantial damage
(see "Substantial Damage") should be considered before making a final substantial damage
determination that would classify the occurrence as an accident.

ff. Substantial Damage - damage or failure which adversely affects the structural strength,
performance, or flight characteristics of the aircraft, and which would normally require major repair or
replacement of the affected component. Engine failure or damage limited to an engine if only one
engine fails or is damaged, bent fairings or cowling, dented skin, small punctured holes in the skin or
fabric, ground damage to rotor or propeller blades, and damage to landing gear, wheels, tires, flaps,
engine accessories, brakes, or wing tips are not considered substantial damage for the purpose of this
order.

r. Incident - an occurrence other than an accident associated with the operation of an aircraft,
which affects or could affect the safety of operations.

Clearly an incident.
