c/n 1216, built 05/66 as model H-295 original registry N6319V Robert Coffin NY placed on Landis 3600 skis sold '69, Lowell Thomas AK (Talkeetna Air 1st of 2)  installed Rajay turbocharger (STC SE124SO & SA156SO)parts & STC used from c/n 1442 used to install 2 extra permanent fuel bladders in wings for (total six Bladders) XLR total 180 gal (STC SA1756CE) installed baggage door and utility compartment (Helio kit K113) Donated '10, for display to Alaska Aviation Heritage Museum Lake Hood Anchorage, AK

Does anyone know the actual fuel capacity of the extra long range fuel bladders I've been told they were actually fiber glass tanks and I've been told both 25 and 30 gals, also what are the details of Helio kit K113 I've been told it was an extended baggage area and the baggage door, anyone know for sure.

I go to the museum there in Anchorage a couple of times a year. Saw 6319V the last few times I was there.  I never knew it had the XLR fuel in it, I am curious to look at it with a new eye next time I am there.  I will also ask if I can poke my head inside and try to get a photo of the baggage area.

If you ask they might let you look at the aircraft logs and take pictures of the actual STC drawings and paperwork.

This is the interesting information I found reportedly the parts and (STC) were used from Nicholas Hanks' c/n 1442 to install the 2 extra permanent fuel bladders in wings for XLR total 180 gal (STC SA1756CE) and the installed utility compartment (Helio kit K113) included the  baggage door although on the pictures I see no baggage door but my pictures were taken in the early '90s, the baggage compartment was installed not to long before it was donated to the museum '10.

I'm including a picture of c/n 1216 because it includes Lowell Thomas. I met him in Talkeetna when i was flying ultralights in the '80s but the picture doesn't seem to jog any memories.

Thanks for the link Stephen.

I hadn't heard the Helio community had lost another great Helio pilot.

added a picture just because I have it. I opened it in the queue above

Rcarter did you ever try to get information on the factory extended baggage compartment and the extra long range fuel STC and installation?

I finally called the Alaska Aviation Heritage Museum in July '15 and was told that was their busy season and they didn't have time to help, that I should call in their off season and talk to some who's name I've forgotten. I called back in late September and He told me that he would look into it and see if he could help me but he as far as I know he never got back with me.

I would sure like to get a copy of that STC and the info that goes along with it, and I sure like to see the installation info about the Helio Kit K-113. I'm sure this would require a look into the a/c logs.
