This photo recently pointed out to me it is interesting because this aircraft was part of contract 63-13090/13113 all of these Helios were purchased in 1963 for USAF National Guard units, but what is not in the records on most is which State the individual Helios went to and the USAF records mostly just say USAF ANG and then list most of them around the middle of '67 winding up with different wings in S/Vietnam. Also there is no marking on the individual aircraft showing which state the were assigned to. The information with this picture show it being with 135th SOS Maryland AFNG. It allows me to add to at least one History paragraph.

Doug, the first post mention that this Helio was on amphibs floats.  If this statement is based on the first photo, it isn't.  These are straight floats on a dolly.

A Google search on Nha Trang, Khanh Hoa Province, S/Vietnam brings us to a beautiful coastal and beach city with touristsm.  And what type of mission they would do on straight floats.  Rivers or ocean ?

Both ends of the runway are near water.  River on one side, ocean on the other.  Looking at the waves of the ocean, they probably operate from the river

I believe I made the error a couple other U-10Bs 556 and 585 were placed on EDO 3430 floats maybe I looked at the thumbnail of the photo and saw amphibs.

Thanks for pointing out my error at least I can correct my personal file.
