U-10D 66-14343
« on: January 28, 2015, 04:19:43 PM »
AirlineHobby.com are currently listing a photo of U-10D 66-14343 [HJ025], with 66-14344 [HJ026] beyond it, reportedly taken at MASDC during 1974.  The unit badge on the tail looks like that of the 4600thABW. Both aircraft arrived for storage at Davis-Monthan AFB, AZ on June 15 1972, and departed March 25 1976. Reportedly to the Department of Education, Washington, DC as N99895 and N99900.

Thanks I was able to grab a copy.

Interesting do you Have Davis Montham storage records?

I hope one of you Millitary buffs buys the slide and shares it with the rest of us.

I have 2 other pictures of 1246 a miltary one on floats, one in Jaars Livery in Indonesia. But none like the slide.

And couple of 1245 as it currently is in Brazil

The Air Force records I've been able to locate show the info below nothing about going to Department of Education, Washington, DC

Air Force records show them going to Jaars.Do you know what Command the 388th and 4600th are with?

My apologies for the delay in replying.

The details of 66-14343 [HJ025] and 66-14344 [HJ026] during their periods of MASDC storage and subsequent fates, were obtained from the book 'MASDC', published in 1982. It records the former operator of 66-14343 as AF Academy, but shows nothing for the other. The website 'Amarc Experience' reports both as ex 4600thCLMS, but lists their disposition as 'fate unknown'. Having not seen a 4600thCLMS badge, I stated that it looked like that of the 4600thABW, which I have seen. It may actually be that of the former unit.

66-14338 [HJ031] also left storage 25MAR76 and was similarly registered to the Department of Education, Washington, DC as N99901.

Best regards

Hello, any better photo of this one? It seems that it has a shark-mouth.

Here is a link to an earlier post with some other photos of c/n 1245

Mr. Vozdushniy I took the liberty of reposting your photo and opening it here. do you have a little better picture, one where the number on the tail can be identified and when and where was the picture taken. Or possibly a link to where the photo is posted.

Sorry, no, but it is from Air Commando Journal 2014-4, available online. It was printed small in contents page. No larger was in the article.

This is the link to the Air Commando Journal lot of interesting information https://www.aircommando.org/?q=content/air-commando-journal

I didn't find the first time though but finally discovered it in the table of contents as a very small picture, without enough pixels to do anything with it.

you can find the article called U-10 operations here click on https://www.aircommando.org/sites/journal/air_commando_journal_042014.pdf

I was able to find a good picture of 1242 and 1243 but 1244 is too small to do anything with it.

I may convert the pdf pages of U-10 'operations' to pictures and post under c/n 1244 with a link at 1243 and 1242.

Stephen do you have it listed on your facebook page as 66-14433 must be a typo since their is no such a/c.

I never posted a copy of your picture under c/n 1245, PP-JCM before because I couldn't identify it.
