This air craft is painted with a paint scheme that reflects that if there had ever been a model H-391 Army L-24 this is what it may have looked like and Mark Price used the colors of a liaison aircraft from his own unit.
I also checked the current registry and if it was ever sold to Sam Ballinger the sale fell through, the history paragraph above has Jim's name spelled wrong and needs to be edited to read;  '12, rereg Jim Hupe & Stephen Trott a/c currently located Guatemala City, Guatemala

I have owned BYA a couple of years ago.  Very good plane.  I don't know about pricing, but it does fly very well.  Well, it did for sure.  The engine was reman with all new pieces.  Took almost a year to find them all.  The owner that bought it from me then put a lot of avionics in it.  I don't remember if i change all the blader.  Maybe.  It did flew better than my present 295  .    I don't remember if i made the STC for the amphibious Wipline on this plane.  I think so.  And skis too.

I never want to comment asking price because, well, where does it really go doing it.  But the starting price of this 250 look to me a good price to start discussion.  It is more and more difficult to maintain a geared engine.  The engine of the 250 is so easy to overall compare to our geared engine.  A 250 is a very good, and easy, choice.

I talked a few days ago with the daughter of Peter Nordyne.

He passed away. 

He was quite an Helio pilot.  Made a lot of surprising missions with his plane when it was a 250.  Missions in line with what the CIA had found the Helio was best at. 

Taking off and landing in 20 knots crosswind was common for him.

I have never achieved what he had shown me, but without him, i would have broken my Helios a lot more often.

I corrected a bunch of errors with the help of Stephens input, in the list above, with the trade and the addition of N61JA there still appears to 15 Helios for sale although since the listings have been removed for some they may be only possible private treaty deals.

I talked to Peter Noordyne before Christmas. He said he wasn’t well. He didn’t last long. He had a pair of 295 wings in parts less the skins. He wanted $15,000 US for them. I told him it was more than I wanted to pay. He said make an offer but I told him that I didn’t want to offend him.  Paul

Larry Montgomery had a set of Factory new 60 gal Wings without fuel bladders for sale in 1994. I think I remember he wanted $5K each, I wanted to trade my wings on 1223 for them but remember it was still too much money at the time since I wanted to convert the wings to 120 gal. I heard from Ken they went to Jaars I wonder what they were used on.

I see that the current asking price for Peter Nordyne's Helio c/n 2525 has been reduced to $247.5K. I suppose there will eventually be an estate sale I wonder if the price will be reduced again to a more realistic figure like the $175K asked for c/n 2514?

There are 3 Helio's currently available on the market I would even consider making a stab at purchase, not that I'm in the market anymore, I don't fly and don't have the bank account. When talking with Ken McAllister about N77TR, he spent 4 and a half years making #2514 a National Treasure in my book, that investment including purchase, was north of $300,000 dollars. If you look at was is available now, a realistic decision will probably necessitate a deep pocket. Ken was at a point where selling 2514 to care for his 12 year old son required physical therapy, medication, and high priced medical care in Hong Kong, plus he was getting ready to retire from Cathay Pacific as FO on Boeing 777's.

On numerous correspondence via e-mail and phone, he was even considering donating the airplane to my care and have it preserved at the EAA Museum. That did not fall into the plans, so now, Lance Goodwin has it up in the Yukon Territory. I had a hangar for 77TR, and care for the airplane was initiated by me and the staff@EAA.
Stan Stevens has some parts up at his MacKenzie Mountian Outfitters in the Yukon if that is where you wish to look for parts, don't have any inventory list, but you might want to contact them and see what they have.

I think my money would be best utilized by the 2 that JAARS has, or when it becomes available N295GC. Parts are hard to find and command big dollars anymore.

Interesting I see that N62JA is for sale right here on this site by Jaars. Now reduced to $140K we've been overlooking what is
right before us, this 1400 series Helio is probably the best deal for an H-295 available the bonus is the JAARS seats and Brownline track.

JAARS has N61JA (H295, 1200) and N62JA (H295 1400) for sale right now. Either could be purchased for $140K. They are flying aircraft and I think one is out flying right now. Both have relatively low time engines and props. Both are in the 10000 hour total time range but have been well maintained and sport many STC's. Both have 3800 lb gross weight, JAARS seats and Brownline track, Lord shimmy dampers. N61JA has the JAARS swing back cargo door, 60 gallon wings. N62JA has 120 gallon wings but only 60 gallon tanks (mains, no aux) installed and it has a cargo pod. Jim Metzler
