If any of the seaplanes coming from Canada or from the East need a place to dock and camp overnight (sorry cabins are full), I have room for a couple and customs available near KDRM.  Paul

June 22, 2017 - While there are certainly plenty of shiny new toys on display during EAA AirVenture Oshkosh, of course, scores of beautiful older aircraft also make appearances at the convention. Vintage in Review during Oshkosh 2017 highlights some of these older aircraft with discussions at Interview Circle.

Interviews will take place Monday through Friday, but here are some standout sessions. Each day Vintage in Review opens at 10:45 a.m. with the live run-up of an antique radial engine. Various pilots and planes are featured each day.

Monday, July 24: Red Barn Celebration Day

11 a.m. – Ray Johnson interviews Mike Mowers from JAARS who will be presenting the first production Helio Courier: Ol’ No. 1. This airplane is a well-known Oshkosh favorite, having demonstrated STOL flying characteristics at many EAA conventions.

I sent an e-mail to EAA Vintage for a correction of Mike Mower, not Mowers, I speak with them on a very frequent basis. I will be there hopefully Monday for this, there is a boat load of projects I'm working on at the moment but that will likely change within the next 2 weeks. I'm pretty sure the first demo of "Ole No.1 at Oshkosh was around 1984-85 time frame. I was in Kalamazoo, MI at the time and it appeared there for High on Kalamazoo. JAARS had an exhibit and Bob Griffin flew the airplane.

Windshield placards will be ready July 1st, and the best way to expedite this is I will send all attendees an e-mail so you can print one out for your Helio.

The current list for airplanes is as follows

C-G001, C-G011, N4121D, N395H, N6463V, N40345, N400HE, Mike Mower will likely have N461FM at the JAARS display, and he might bring up N44953 or Walt's HT-295 N68884. Tim Greene is coming with Stallion Number one, N550TG

All for now,
Stephen
