I believe this is the one that stopped by our gliderport a few years back.  It was based at Scottsdale at the time?  Very clean machine.

Hello Everyone;
I did purchase H-4 from John Levitz early this month.
I flew the H-800 from Scottsdale, AZ to my hangar at 1AX7 (Gloster) via an overnight in Fort Stockton, TX.
This H-800 has 761 Hours Total Time. I have the prop and govenor in for overhaul. The annual is finished and just waiting for the prop/gov to complete.
Planning on putting the airplane on the market next week.

I'm not sure which direction I'll go with it until I fly it a bit. I was originally looking for a C-185 before I decided to try a Helio instead. It's not the H-295 model that I would still prefer to have, but the H-800 has to be better and more fun than a C-185 just like it is, right? Certainly looks cooler. I'm really looking forward to learning to fly another unique type of plane. In the small world department, I also reconnected with Gordon who signed me off for my multi-engine check ride back in '78 or so. We'll see where this Helio thing goes. Terry

HI Terry - Congrats on the Helio 800.  Would enjoy hearing how you are doing learning to fly/land the new Helio.   I have H-22 which has the RollsRoyce/ Allison 250 b17C engine from the Pima County Sherrif's Department.  I am learning how to get it slow and some (Louis) feels the stock H-800 is difficult to get slow like the H295's, etc.  Would appreciate it if you would share some of your experiences with us as you get to know it. 
   For H-22, so far I have not had allot of time yet in it as I have been busy with my day job and we also have this TFR hanging over us for these three weeks.  But I can say that I am so far pleasantly surprised and am having success getting it slow with decent landings.

Can any of you guys tell me what the Vx and Vy are for the stock H-800?   And published stall speeds?   I would like to be able to compare/  Thanks/  Bob Wallace

And published stall speeds? 

I remember some published minimum speed in case of an engine failure.  With the mention that this speed was necessary to be able to do a flare.  It  was in the 800  POH

From the H-800 Flight Manual. Power off stall speeds- Flaps Up is 50 Kts CAS; Flaps 40 is 47 Kts CAS. In case of engine failure, "To permit a landing flare, maintain an airspeed of at least 60 Kts."

If i remember, there was also a stall speed indicated directly on the amphibious floats.  On the plate of the PK 4000 A.  Something around 70 or so.

It appears H-4 has changed hands already. sold 11/16, rereg  Forsee Aviation (pilot Kevin Harris)

edited the for sale post but looking at the date this may have been a mistake and it is possibly still for sale 

we still need a picture with the new registry N8004 (for 800 series H-4)

After noticing the date I looked and this helio is still for sale, but did find a current photo as N8004, you have to look closely to see the registry mark has changed to N8004 and it does confirm that it still looks the same, that there has been no paint scheme change with this owner.
