It appears that 1243 is for sale at Barnstormers $159K

If you want a set of Jarrs crash worthy energy absorbing seats this the place to get them, only problem you have to buy the whole airplane. I guess you could swap airplanes or seats then resell the A/C.

Included is a photo of the seats opened above. Interesting that the front seats have Lumbar support and the sling seat (5th and 6th) are replaced with individual seats. The sling seat in my opinion is for kids only, it is really uncomfortable.

c/n 1243, has changed hands again need a historical paragraph edit above.

EDIT addition , sold 09/16 export dereg 01/17, export rereg C-GXFA (special request for A) Silver City, YT Lance Goodwin (2nd Helio of 2) placed on Federal wheel skis currently stationed at Kluane research Station, Kluane Lake Yukon for Icefield Discovery Tours

I have a couple pictures as well, the first is a picture that Jim Metzler posted a few days ago as an example of it being placed on a trailer, at that point it had just been returned from Liberia as N7211Q (I kind of like the sound of that Number) and was being refurbished by Jim so Jaars could sell it.

It really should be opened first in the queue above

The next picture is a Photo of 1243 as C-GXFA (special request for the A because they already owned C-GXFB) along with C-GXFB. Lance says GXFA is a big help but performance limited for takeoffs and landings above 6500' because it isn't turbocharged like C-GXFB.

Can anyone help with a picture of 1243 as EL-LBT?

And it went through a 7 year restoration by Helio guru Stephen Murray, that is one nice airplane, square windows or not.

Stephen, I checked the FAA file on 1243 and I see no 337s or other paperwork on 1243 by Steve Murray.

so checked the file for 1263 that I had erroneously given.

I only saw two 337s one to replace the panel and another to modify the military fuel system for Richard Negly

Personally I have always liked the round windows for their distinctiveness. However, IMO the square ones make for better lines on the airplane. I wonder how many have been converted? 514 has them too, so it isn't always a 295.

My -395 project at some point was converted to the square windows as well.  I too prefer the round windows, but the trapezoidal windows are sufficiently funky that I like them.

Since Kevin asked the question, I decided to look both in my FAA files and my picture collection and see what I could figure out.

Here is more information than you probably care about.

It appears that a total of 23 Helios have been converted from round windows to the square windows or more accurately trapezoidal windows, and 5 have had the rear round window completely removed with 5th and sixth seats removed.

19 have paperwork showing the change and 4 don't have FAA paperwork, possibly logbook entry but no way to know.

No H-391's have been converted to round windows, not sure but I don't believe there is any difference in the cage that would keep it from being done.

Only 3 H-395s and have been converted and on 1 H-395 the trapezoidal window was later removed and converted to an enlarged baggage area. 3 H-395s have no rear windows 1 an H-395A was ordered from the factory with no rear windows.

17 H-295s have been converted to the trapezoidal windows and 2 have had the rear windows and seats removed for a larger baggage area.

Only 3 H-250s have been converted to the trapezoidal windows.
